Some people don’t recognize the importance of a graduation cord, but the importance is beyond belief. It is much more important to work and obtain one than nearly anything else in your school career. They will possibly get you the college, and then job that you want. They signify to you, and anyone who knows that you have accomplished this feat, that you will become successful in life. Brief History of Traditional Graduation Ceremony
Most of the societies recognize rite of passage, when the person enters new stage in life. And marriage is rite of passage, plus graduation from the high school or the college is a rite of passage. Majority of the ceremonies honoring this stage of life will include rituals. Traditional graduation ceremony includes the marching to Pomp & Circumstance, who inspired music when he got Honorary Doctor of the Music degree in 1905. Princeton also followed with music in 1907 and soon, tradition caught on throughout country. Mortarboard and gown have long history, and dating back to the medieval clergy & European universities. At 1895, the American institutes formed Intercollegiate Commission that standardized academic dress. Now, the students march in an auditorium wearing graduation cap and gown as well as marching to Pomp & Circumstance.

Graduation Ceremony
No matter whether it is the high school or else the college graduation, faculty generally marches in the gymnasium or else auditorium ahead of graduating class. The college professors wear the academia clothing whereas the high school teachers mostly wear the professional clothing. When faculty sits, processional starts with the Pomp & Circumstance.
